The May Family have been farming at Netherexe since 1975, and up the road at Raddon since 1919. The farm is five miles north of Exeter, running a 4 mile stretch of river bank against the river Exe, lush green meadows produce plenty of summer grazing where the family have a herd of Devon cattle, home bred Dorset sheep. They grow wheat, barley & oats for the beef youngstock, fodder beet and green crop for the sheep.
The Ruby Red Café was opened 2020 at the Exe Valley farm shop. We offer a large, seasonally changing menu showcasing our own farm-reared meats which are expertly butchered in house and freshly prepared alongside the best locally sourced ingredients by our chefs.
